Case Study
BourbonIT 2.0, a multimodal AI platform anyone can cook with
We rebuilt Britannia’s BourbonIT into a multimodal AI platform that lets anyone create a Bourbon recipe by voice, photo or link, in seven languages.

The Challenge
Season one proved the appetite. BourbonIT drew 28,000 recipe submissions and crowned 45 winners. For season two Britannia wanted more depth, more access and more personalisation, and it wanted to reach a country that speaks dozens of languages and does not always want to type.
The challenge was to make participation effortless for everyone, whether they speak Hindi or Tamil, prefer to talk rather than write, or simply want to share a photo of a dessert they love.
The Solution
We built BourbonIT 2.0 as a multimodal engagement platform on Google Cloud. People start a recipe three ways: they speak it, they upload a photo of a dessert, or they share a link, and the platform generates a personalised Bourbon recipe from any of them. It understands seven languages and counting, and a real time AI cooking assistant answers questions mid recipe, from ingredient substitutes to mixing times.
Google Gemini does the heavy lifting: vision for dessert recognition, speech for multi accent voice input, and language models for recipe generation. Every entry becomes an AI enhanced, branded recipe card built to be shared, and community voting powers a People’s Choice award. Underneath, we moved the whole experience onto a unified Google Cloud stack so it scales itself.
The Results
Season one’s 28,000 submissions became the floor rather than the ceiling. Bourbon now owns a multilingual, voice first engagement platform that gathers first party data, produces shareable content many times faster than a normal entry, and positions Britannia as an AI forward, consumer first brand.
